No. 14 Wisconsin led 13th-ranked LSU 24-7 at one point early in the third quarter of the AdvoCare Texas Kickoff in Houston. Victory on a national stage seemed within reach for the team so painfully accustomed to close losses under the spotlights. But the Badgers squandered the lead, due in part to injuries sustained by key defensive players, and an inability to complete passes. They gave up 21 unanswered points in their loss to the perennial SEC powerhouse.
